WARREN, Ohio – Doris Johnson, 73, of 181 Belmont Avenue NW, Warren, Ohio, departed this life Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 7:28 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital, following an extended illness.
She was born June 22, 1943, in Swainsboro, Georgia, the daughter of James C. Ricks and Ruby Lee Roundtree Ricks (Henry), residing in the area since 1985 coming from Florida.
Ms. Johnson enjoyed playing cards, fishing, singing, dancing and spending time with her family.
She leaves to mourn one son, Albert Davis Johnson, Jr. of Tampa, Florida; four daughters, Ms. Valerie Ricks, Mrs. Belinda (Robert) Ricks Henry and Ms. Doria Johnson all of Warren and Ms. Ruby Lee Benson of Tampa, Florida; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren, Kelo Ricks, Sr. and Emmanuel Williams.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the York Avenue Church of God.
Calling hours will be held one hour prior to service, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
Family will receive friends at 181 Belmont Avenue NW, the home of her daughter, Doria Johnson.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
