BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Even though fall has already begun and summer is officially over, plans are already under way for next summer at Berlin Lake. A new ramp is being constructed to accommodate the influx of visitors at the park each year.
Berlin Lake sees more than 600,000 visitors each summer, which is causing a little crowding at the park’s facilities. A new access ramp for boaters will provide a new launch on the upstream end of the lake to enter the water.
Chris Aman, a fishery Biologist with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, says they are on track to be ready by next summer, but there are still things that must get done.
“Place the asphalt in this area and they will have to develop the docks themselves. There be a floating dock that is going to be placed as well and then by May 2017, we should have the project ready to go and be ready to open,” Aman said.
Even though the ramp will be ready to go by summer Aman said the new ramp will be seasonal. It will be open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The ramp will be open to the public and there are no launch fees.
