AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2016 at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Lucious Howard Julious, of Austintown who departed this life Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Hospice House.
Mr. Julious, commonly known as “Howard,” was born February 7, 1942 in Gary, West Virginia, a son of Leon and Josephine Murry Julious.
He was a 1957 graduate of South High School, honorably served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and later retired from General Motors as an assembly worker.
He enjoyed reading and was a huge history buff.
Mr. Julious had a kind heart and would often give advice by sharing his life experiences, good and bad, with his family. He loved children and is described as being the “best granddad ever.” He will be deeply missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Priscilla (Laytton) Shepherd of Austintown; five grandchildren, Michael (LaTonia) Branch of Austintown, LayKesha (Robert) Randall, Ebony Lenoir, Jasmaine Shepherd and Laytton M. Shepherd, all of Youngstown; eight siblings, Leon Julious, Barbara Hall, Brillis Shorter, Deloris “Sissy” Pierce, Alma “Fay” Donlow, Sherbie Waller, Toni Chapple and Deborah Coleman, all of Youngstown; ten nieces; nine nephews; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Gennivie Julius, whom helped rear him.
Friends may call on Monday from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
