According to dispatch, a gas tank on the side of the semi was crushed and diesel fuel was leaking. HAZMAT was called out to the scene.
Earlier Thursday night, Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that another semi rolled off the side of I-80 westbound around 10:30 p.m. near mile marker 237 in Hubbard Township. Troopers did not know if the rainy weather was a factor.
No lanes were closed there, because the semi was not blocking the road. There were also no fuel leaks.
Troopers said crews will start cleaning that scene up sometime Friday morning.
They said the female driver was from Florida and had a male passenger who was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with minor injuries. Charges have not been filed yet.
