Lisbon rebounds against Wellsville; improves to 5-1

The Blue Devils will travel to Salineville next Friday to face the Indians.

WELLSVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – Lisbon rebounded well from last week’s loss to South Range to post a key 44-22 win over homestanding-Wellsville. The Blue Devils registered 418 rushing yards as a team while totaling 19 first downs as they finished 4 for 7 on their third down conversions.

Four members of Lisbon’s rushing attack finished with at least 50 yards. Cam Summers led the team with 174 yards on 13 rushes (TD). Colin Sweeney compiled 4 total touchdowns (3 rushing, 1 passing) while gaining 82 yards on 9 totes. Jason Thompson finished with a 7.3 yard per carry average (10 rushes, 73 yards, TD) and Dougie Minor had 53 yards on 5 attempts.

Wellsville’s quarterback Justin Miller closed out the contest with 193 yards passing on 13 of 23 with a pair of touchdown tosses. Derrick Suggs led the Tigers on the ground with 46 yards on just 7 carries. Michael Shope (86 yards) and Hayden Dalrymple (55 yards) each had 3 catches while Branzen Grodhaus had 4 (21 yards).
