The Sharon Tigers shut out the Mercer Mustangs

Despite missing one of the best players in the area, the Sharon Tigers defeated Mercer Friday night, 42-0.

SHARON, Pennsylvania (WKBN) – Despite missing one of the best players in the area, the Sharon Tigers defeated Mercer Friday night, 42-0.

Jayquan Odem got things going for the Tigers early in the 1st with a 13 yard touchdown run to give Sharon the early 7-0 lead.

That was followed up shortly after with a Jordan Wilson nine yard touchdown to extend the lead to 14-0.

Jaquan Waller, Frank Shaffer, and Odem all contributed receiving touchdowns in the first half as the Tigers took a 35-0 lead into halftime.

It was reported earlier in the day by @BobGreenburg that Sharon’s standout player Ziyon Strickland would be unavailable for the game.

Mercer (0-6) will host Reynolds in week seven. Sharon (4-2) will host Holy Name.
