FARRELL, Pennsylvania – A funeral service celebrating the life and legacy of Mr. James Lee Hopson, Jr. will be held Friday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Church in Farrell, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Hopson known to his family and friends as “Boy”, departed this life September 30, 2016 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Youngstown.

Mr. Hopson was born in 1944 in Wheatland, Pennsylvania a son of James L. and Blanche Williams Hopson.

He was formerly employed with American General Industry and as a laborer with Delphi Packard Industries retiring after 30 years of loyal service.

He was a craftsman who enjoyed working on classic cars, fishing and shooting pool.

He was known as the “Snake Doctor” on his CB handle and he was very active in the CB Club “The Ohio Smoke Blowers.”

He was a loving father, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children, Yulanda Hopson, Kenny (Theresa) Hadden, Rosalind Brown, James Hopson III, Andreas Atwood, Freeman Bankston, Nicole Bankston, Pokey Peavy and Irene Hopson; his brother, David L. Hopson; 30 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and dear friends including his former wife, Ruby Hopson and his companion, Theresa Whitehead.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Rose Lee, Barbara Mayda, Gail, Mary Alice, Sarah and Beverley Hopson; his nephew, Gary Hopson Sr and his niece, Lynn Hopson.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in Morefield Cemetery in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
