BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Panda Express in Boardman is officially open.

Customers got their first looks — and first tastes — of the Asian-American restaurant at 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

The restaurant employs around 35 people right now and said it still needs about 15 more.

For the grand opening, the chain will donate 20 percent of proceeds to Making Kids Count Northeast Ohio, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the most vulnerable children within the area.

Store owners said that although construction was quick, this has been a long time in the works.

The Panda Express is located at South Avenue and Windham Court across the street from another newer restaurant to the area — Primanti Brothers.
