HERMITAGE, Pa. (WKBN) – A child in Hermitage was found and returned home safely after going missing for at least six hours on Sunday.
Hermitage police said Evan Ohlinger, a 14-year-old male with autism, went missing between 10 and 11 a.m. Sunday morning when he walked into a wooded area near his home on Sandy Lane.
He strayed approximately 15 miles away before a passerby found him around 5:30 p.m. walking alongside of a road in Springfield Township just outside of Mercer. The passerby then contacted one of his family members.
Police said although Ohlinger has wandered in the past, it has never been for this long or far.
