LOWELLVILLE, Ohio – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m., at the Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church for James A. Viglio, Sr., 88, who passed away Sunday, October 2.
James was born April 30, 1928, in Youngstown, the son of Pasquale and Marianna Mancini Viglio.
After attending East High School, James served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952.
He worked in partnership with his brother, John, operating J&J Auto Body for 35 years, until his retirement in 1993, at the age of 65.
James was a member of the Christ the Good Shepherd Parish.
James leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, the former Cecilia Bartos, whom he married June 30, 1951; his son, James (Diane) Viglio, Jr. of Austintown; his granddaughters, Amber (Benjamin) Viglio-Blacker and Lorin Viglio, all of Columbus; and his step-great-grandson, Daniel Blacker.
Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Viglio; brothers George, John, Patrick “Ace,” Frank and Michael Viglio; and his sisters, Mary Pallante and Antoinette Colantuoni.
The Viglio family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Saturday morning, October 8, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers, and should friends desire, donations may be made in James’ name to Humility of Mary Hospice House.
