Semi truck accident shuts down portion of I-376 in Mercer County

Pennsylvania State Police believe the driver feel asleep and lost control of the truck

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WKBN) – State Route 376 in Mercer County has been cleared after a tractor-trailer accident that blocked traffic for several hours.

The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. near mile marker three.

The road was shut down westbound between Exit 5: PA 208 – New Wilmington/Pulaski and Exit 2: PA 18 – West Middlesex. It has since been reopened.

The driver and a passenger in the truck were taken to UPMC for minor injuries.

Pennsylvania State Police believe the driver feel asleep and lost control of the truck.

Over 300 gallons of packaged almond milk spilled from the trailer.
