BERLIN CENTER, Ohio (WKBN) – After trailing for nearly the entire game, Western Reserve edged McDonald, 13-9, on a game-winning touchdown with under a minute remaining.
With just 45 seconds left, Wyatt Larimer scored on a 3-yard TD run to give Reserve (4-3) a decisive four-point lead. It capped a 14-play, 94-yard drive that took five minutes, 25 seconds off the clock.

McDonald (3-4) held a 9-6 lead early in the fourth after a safety. It lead 7-6 through three quarters when Mike Zarbaugh scored on a 5-yard TD run in the first.
Western Reserve struck first when Adam Gatrell hauled in a 75-yard TD pass from Larimer. However, its two-point try was denied.
Western Reserve, which amassed 318 total yards, was led by Jack Cappabianca’s 142 yards on 21 rushing attempts. Larimer went 2 of 5 through the air for 87 yards.
McDonald totaled 264 yards and was paced by Alex Cintron’s 16 rushes for 107 yards. Dillion Portolese completed 5 of 11 passes for 89 yards.
McDonald will host Mineral Ridge in week eight. Western Reserve will host Jackson-Milton.
