Springfield holds on at Columbiana

In a defensive battle, Springfield held on to down Columbiana, 14-13.

COLUMBIANA, Ohio (WKBN) – In a defensive battle, Springfield held on to down Columbiana, 14-13.

After a scoreless first quarter, Gabe Barnard scored on a 55-yard TD pass from Brannon Brungard to put the Tigers ahead in the second quarter.

The Clippers tied the game in the third quarter on a Mitch Davidson 2-yard TD run.

Springfield then took a 14-7 lead into the fourth quarter and held on despite a late Columbiana touchdown.

Springfield (5-2) will host East Palestine in week eight. Columbiana (5-2) will visit Lisbon.
