Stuck train signal backs up traffic on busy Route 224 in Boardman

The signal was cleared and traffic passed through about 8:30 a.m.

The Route 224 train signal in Boardman, Ohio was stuck, stalling traffic.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A train crossed Route 224 in Boardman about 7:45 a.m., but gates stayed down and the lights continued flashing for almost a half hour after the trains passed.

The delay trapped drivers on the busy stretch of Route 224 at Southern Boulevard.

The signal was cleared and traffic passed through about 8:30 a.m.

Traffic was backed up past the Southern Park Mall.
