MECCA, Ohio – Kenneth Weldon Carnsew, age 72, died October 7, 2016 at University Hospital after a short illness.
He was born July 3, 1944 to Weldon and Mary (McPheron) Carnsew.
During the Vietnam War, Kenny proudly served in the Army.
He was a carpenter by trade and retired from Gibson Construction.
He lived his entire life in Mecca and served as a township trustee. A lifelong hunter, Kenny served as president of the Lakeview Coon Hunters Club. He dealt in coon and squirrel dogs and had hunted with men from several states, making lifetime friendships. Known for his fun loving nature he was well known at local auctions and flea markets and will be missed by all. Making friends was a natural thing for Kenny.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel; 164 N. High Street, Cortland, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
Kenny is survived by his son, Kevin Carnsew; his sister, Arlene Duff; his niece, Laura Duff; his nephew, Craig Duff and his beloved grandson, Justin Drake.
