CORTLAND, Ohio – Virginia Scott Griffin, 98, of Fowler Township passed away peacefully at her home 5:30 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 following a brief illness.
She was born April 6, 1918 in Elkins, West Virginia the daughter of Blaine and Alta (Smith) Scott.
A lifetime Fowler resident, Virginia was a graduate of Fowler High School and had attended the Youngstown Business College.
She retired from the accounting department of the Packard Electric Division of General Motors Corporation in 1974 after 35 years of service.
Virginia was a member of the Fowler Community Church and the ladies’ organization there. She volunteered for many years at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, was a member of the Howland SCOPE and the Red Hat Society.
Her husband, Fern E. Griffin, whom she married August 28, 1943 preceded her in death on May 28, 1967.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Fowler Community Church where friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Joel Dickson will officiate.
Interment will be in Dugan Cemetery in Fowler.
