Game of the Week: Howland beats Niles in AAC shootout

HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Tyriq Ellis scored 5 touchdowns and Howland defeated Niles, 56-32 Thursday. This matchup between the two rivals is a Game of the Week showdown (the replay can be seen on MyYTV at 11 p.m).

Ellis finished with four touchdowns on the ground, and the other coming on a shovel pass from Samari Dean.  On the night, Ellis tallied 132 rushing yards on 20 carries.

Victor Williams notched a pair of touchdowns, one on the ground, and one receiving.  Williams was also a factor on defense, coming up with two interceptions, which both led to Tigers touchdowns.  Williams piled up 101 total yards.

Samari Dean completed 8-12 for 99 yards and two touchdowns.  He also rushed for 97 yards.

Niles Quarterback Tyler Srbinovich racked up four touchdowns, three on the ground, and one through the air.  The senior completed 12-25 passes for 158 yards.  He also rushed for 66 yards on 15 carries.

Marlon Pearson amassed seven receptions for 133 yards in the setback.

Howland has now won six straight games, and improves to 6-2 on the season

Losers of four straight, Niles  falls to 3-5.
