WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Warren JFK Jimmy Graham is gearing up for the Division three Boys State Golf Tournament this weekend in Columbus. It’s his second consecutive trip to state competition.
Graham is the only local golfer that will be competing on an individual basis.
Graham shot a 73 at the District Tournament last week. He’s the youngest Sophomore competing, and posted the fifth-best individual score in District play.
The State Golf Tournament takes place on October 14th and 15th at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury, which is located just outside of Columbus.
” I do want to come out as a champion…as a state champion. I expect to do pretty well, but, I just want to have fun and compete,” Graham said.
Head Coach Jim St.George has very high hopes heading into State Tournament play.
“Jimmy’s an exceptional player…probably the best player in Trumbull County right now,” said St. George. “And, I’m expecting big things out of them. He’s a seasoned kid, a good kid. He’s a good listener. And, like I said, all he’s gotta do is get those putts to fly and I expect him to be in the top five easy.”
