YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Jewell Hayes Veneable, 85, of Youngstown, Ohio, departed this life Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 11:05 p.m. at her residence.
She was born July 26, 1931 in Reynolds, Georgia, the daughter of Rob and Carrie Mae Helums Hayes, residing in the area since 1949, coming from Butler, Georgia.
Mrs. Veneable was a House Wife, a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she was a Deaconess and enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.
She was a graduate of Butler High School.
She married Theodore Veneable, Sr. in 1950, he died in 2012.
She leaves to mourn one son, Charles Veneable of Youngstown; two grandchildren, Ms. Khalilah V. (Corwyn) Collins of New Orleans, Louisiana and Cassian Veneable of Livermore, California; two great-grandchildren, Khalil Veneable-Collins and Ms. Cortney Collins both of New Orleans, Louisiana and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Theodore Veneable, Jr.; seven brothers and five sisters.
Private Services were held Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Chapel.
Burial took place at Belmont Park Cemetery.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
