NEW SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Funeral services will be held Monday, October 17, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Michael Swierz, for Matilda Mickler, 92, formerly of Neoka Drive in Campbell, who passed away Tuesday evening, October 11, 2016.
Matilda was born May 7, 1924, in Campbell, the daughter of Louis and Anna Zelenak Rayner.
She was a 1942 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and a lifelong area resident.
Matilda was a former member of the Hungarian Presbyterian Church in Youngstown.
Her husband, Michael John Mickler, whom she married January 12, 1946, passed away May 15, 1993.
Matilda leaves to cherish her memories; her children, Michael (Jacque) Mickler of New Springfield and Linda (Don) Smith of Chicago; her grandchildren, Michael (Rebecca) Mickler of Beaver, Sara (Dimitri) Fayard of Chicago, Edward (Angela) Opalinski of Indianapolis and Christina (Kevin) McKittrick of Chicago and her great-grandchildren, Margot Fayard, Michael Mickler and Ezkiel “Zeke” Opalinski.
Besides her parents and her husband, Michael, she was preceded in death by her siblings.
The family requests no flowers.
The Mickler family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday morning, October 17 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service.
