New Castle Police charge man with robbing First Commonwealth bank

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WKBN) – Police arrested a New Castle man Wednesday night after they said he robbed a bank earlier in the day.

Joshua Mele, 29, robbed the First Commonwealth Bank on E. Washington Street in New Castle around 3:45 p.m., according to police.

An undercover officer found and arrested him at a Dollar Store in Union Township at 10 p.m.

During the interrogation, police said Mele admitted to robbing the bank. Police also found some of the stolen cash behind a couch at his house.

Mele is charged with robbery, theft and receiving stolen property.
