Another strong defensive outing gets Wellsville to 4-4

The Tigers will head to Columbiana in week nine to take on the Clippers.

HANOVERTON, Ohio (WKBN) – Justin Miller threw for two touchdowns in Wellsville’s 32-7 win over United. Number 18 connected on 67% of his tosses (8-12) for 111 yards.

The Tigers were led by running back Derrick Suggs, who gained 108 yards on 17 carries. Cameren Grodhaus picked up 53 stripes on only 3 totes while Branzen (Grodhaus) carried the ball 12 times and compiled 44 rushing yards. Through the air, Hayden Dalrymple caught the first touchdown of the game as he finished with 3 receptions for 39 yards. Suggs also had 37 receiving yards on a pair of catches. Michael Shope had four tackles and a fumble recovery for a score to begin the second half.

Wellsville has outscored their last two opponents by a combined score of 89-14.

United’s Colton Graham finished with a season-high 95 yards rushing on 15 carries. Nathan Mikell scored his first rushing touchdown of the season while accounting for 40 yards on the ground. Mikell also threw for 33 yards as he has not thrown an interception in five of his last six games.
