Mathews handles Southington, moves to 5-3

The Mustangs notched the win after falling behind 7-0

Mathews fell behind early, but eventually took control and beat Southington, 35-14 on Friday.

SOUTHINGTON, Ohio (WKBN) – Mathews fell behind early, but eventually took control and beat Southington, 35-14 on Friday.

Cody Helmuth put Southington ahead 7-0 on a 1-yard TD run. He was set up by an 18-yard run from Cameron Mazzolla.

Mathews’ Daniel Carter answered with a short TD run of his own to tie the game. He was set up by a 23-yard run by Corey Taylor.

Mathews (5-3) will visit Grand Valley in week nine. Southington (3-5) will visit Windham.
