NEWTON FALLS, Ohio – John S. Walker, 62, passed away Friday afternoon, October 14, 2016, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio.
John was born on May 10, 1954, in Port Alleghany, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Elmer M. Walker and Eleanor Maxine (Shaw) Walker Matson.
He was a 1972 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and continued his education at Kent State University, graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
He worked within the electrical industry and recently retired from Nexans Autoelectric of America of Poland, Ohio.
He enjoyed going camping, computer science, keeping busy with projects inside the house and working out in the yard. He also enjoyed bowling and playing in pool leagues but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends and the company of his dog, Pee Wee.
John will be deeply missed by his children, Shawn (Mary) Walker of Champion, Ohio and Jerad Walker of Warren, Ohio; three grandchildren, Marissa, Amber and Tyler Walker; four sisters, Pamela (Jim) Altman of The Villages, Florida, Bonnie (Terry) Boatright of Mecca, Ohio, Connie Hinton and her husband Ron who preceded John in death of Warren, Ohio and Bobbie (Gary) Kennedy of Murphy, North Carolina; and one brother, Tom (Vicki) Walker of Warren, Ohio.
Funeral services for John will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio at 12:00 Noon.
Family will receive friends on Monday, October 17, 2016, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel located at 180 Garfield Dr. SE Warren, Ohio 44483.
The family would like to thank the Critical Care Unit at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for their loving care and emotional support. They would also like to thank all the nurses and doctors that went above and beyond to take care of them through this time.
