CLEVELAND, Ohio (Formerly Campbell, Ohio) – Annie Mae Herns Hicks ascended into eternal rest on October 15, 2016.
Born in Youngtown, Ohio on October 4, 1929, Annie was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Campbell, Ohio in 1938.
She proudly graduated from Memorial High School in Campbell, Ohio in 1948.
She was a devout Christian and a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, stepmother and aunt. She was and inspiration to her family and in the community, she was admired and respected.
Annie is survived by six beloved children, Sandra Robinson of Hickory Creek, Texas, Aaron Jennings of Youngstown, Jeremy Johnson of Newark, New Jersey, Johnathan Johnson of Columbus, Ohio, Ruthy Ann Harrington of Elyria, Ohio and Louis Hicks of Youngstown, Ohio.
Annie was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters, Roubie, Andrew, Franklin, Paul and Oscar Herns, Orangie Lee Scott and Lily B. Williams.
Her survivors also include her sister-in-laws, Elois Herns of Campbell, Ohio and Gertrude Herns of New Castle, Pennsylvania; as well as nephews and nieces, Glennrick, Glynis and Genia Herns of Campbell and host of other relatives and friends.
The viewing will be Saturday, October 22, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 632 West River Road North, Elyria, Ohio.
