AUSTINTOWN TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Beatrice M. “Gubbie” Morgan, 87, passed away Saturday, October 15, at Austinwoods Nursing Center.
She was born February 15, 1929 in Youngstown, to John B. and Susan (Sasfai) Onder.
A graduate of Chaney High School, Mrs. Morgan worked at Truscon Steel in Youngstown and JC Penney in Riverside, California. She joined Sears and Roebuck in 1963 and worked as a bookkeeper for its stores in Youngstown, New Castle, Pennsylvania and Sharon, Pennsylvania. She advanced to payroll, keeping records by hand before learning on a calculator and a computer. She retired in 1991 after 28 years of service.
She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Austintown and belonged to Sears Retirees, Seed N Weed Garden Club and two 500 card clubs.
Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Louis C. Lengyel, Jr. and her second husband, William M. Morgan.
She is survived by her stepson, Captain Randy (Cheryle) Morgan of Spring Hill, Tennessee; her stepdaughter, Marti (Bob) Smith of Austintown; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
There will be no services.
Donations can be made to Crossroads Hospice that provide services to Austinwoods.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
