WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Currently, Hillary Clinton has close to a two-point lead in Ohio, according to RealClearPolitics.

Her campaign is getting a big push from former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, who stopped by the Trumbull County Democratic Headquarters in Warren on Sunday. She spoke to a packed house at the Trumbull County Democratic Headquarters.

“We are coming in this office every night, phone banking — and to have someone like her come in and show us how much she appreciates what we’re doing — she is energizing the women,” said Kathy Dicristofaro, chair of the Ohio Democratic Women’s Caucus.

Voting holds a special meaning for the former Secretary of State.

“I’m a refugee to this country,” Albright said. “I became a citizen when I was in college. And I know that the greatest privilege of being an American is the chance to vote. It’s a privilege and a responsibility.”

It’s a duty now more than ever, she told the crowd, given the stakes of this presidential election.

“When you hear someone like Secretary Albright talk to us about, you know, the global security — not just national security but global security — and what a risk it is with someone like Donald Trump in office….We can not let this happen,” Dicristofaro said.

And for Secretary Albright, not voting is not an option.

“A protest vote is a vote for Trump,” she said. “I think that is, and whether it’s writing somebody else in or not going, that is a vote for Trump.”

Secretary Albright will be campaigning across Ohio until Tuesday.
