Police: Man hit by car in Lawrence Co. after running into road

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP., Pa. (WKBN) – Police said a car hit a pedestrian in Lawrence County Monday evening after the pedestrian ran into the road.

The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on State Route 422, just east of Young Road, in Slippery Rock Township.

According to a traffic report, 18-year-old Tyler Misner, of New Castle, was driving on 422 and 48-year-old Perry Lawry, also of New Castle, was sitting beside the road.

Police said Lawry ran into the center turning lane as Misner was approaching, and was hit head-on by the car.

Lawry was airlifted to UPMC in Pittsburgh with serious injuries. Misner was not injured.

Police learned that Lawry had been trespassing at a home nearby, according to the report. They plan to file charges against him for the crash and trespassing.
