Still no solution for Lordstown train tracks causing major delays

Trains are blocking the intersection of Lyntz Townline and Salt Springs Road, sometimes up to 45 minutes

A railroad crossing in Lordstown is causing major traffic delays.

LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The problem of long waits at train tracks at a Salt Springs Road intersection in Lordstown doesn’t appear to be getting fixed.

Congressman Tim Ryan and a CSX representative have exchanged letters, trying to find a solution to trains blocking the intersection near the General Motors plant.

Tim Ryan’s letter to CSX

CSX says the problem is a result of higher production of the Chevy Cruze.

Ryan is still hearing from parents about school buses being forced to wait half an hour or longer at the intersection and GM workers arriving late for their shifts.

He says he wants to meet with CSX and leaders from GM and the Village of Lordstown to find a solution.
