EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – John L. “Jack” Baker of West Point, passed away at the age of 77 at the Heritage Valley Medical Center in Beaver, at 11:00 p.m., Thursday evening, October 20, 2016.

He was a son of the late Charles Baker and Mary Ward Schoonover and was born December 21, 1938, in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Jack was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Rogers and he retired from the Quaker State-Ergon plant after 35 years as a unit operator.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and had been a member of the Columbiana County Fish and Game Club, at one time.

Jack was preceded by his wife, Shirley Cochran Baker, on December 20, 2005. In addition to his wife and parents, Jack was preceded by his two sons, John and Eric Baker and two brothers, Gilbert and Bob Sellers.

Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie Brubaker and her husband Michael, of West Point; two granddaughters, Lisa Jorgenson and her husband Joe and Jessica Brubaker, all of Columbus; as well as two great-grandchildren, Ella and Michael Jorgenson.

Jack is also survived by his sister, Mabel Ann Sheets of Racine, Ohio and four brothers, Paul Sellers of Shade, Ohio, Joe Sellers and his wife Judy, of Panama City, Florida, Junior Sellers and his wife Crystal, of Longbottom, Ohio and Rick Sellers of Portland, Ohio.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 25 where the family will be present from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Pastor Paul Wright of the church will conduct services at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26.

Jack will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park. Family and friends will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
