Center Street bridge in Youngstown reopens after fatal accident

Crews were called out to the scene around 11:30 a.m. for an accident involving a dump truck, semi dump truck and car

One person is dead and one person was sent to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after an accident on the Center Street bridge.


YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Center Street bridge between Poland and Wilson avenues in Youngstown is open again after closing for nearly 12 hours following a fatal crash.

Crews were called out to the scene just before 11:30 a.m. Friday for an accident involving a dump truck, semi dump truck and mid-size car.

The car’s driver was killed and one of the truck drivers was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators inspected both commercial carriers and debris in the roadway had to be cleared.

They also brought in accident reconstruction equipment to figure out what happened.

The deceased person’s name has not yet been released.
