Police investigating armed robbery of YSU fraternity house

The victims said the men stole a wallet, cell phones and keys after holding them by gunpoint in the house

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown Police are investigating an armed robbery at an off-campus Youngstown State University fraternity house.

Police were called to Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s Pennsylvania Avenue home around 2 a.m. Friday. The victims told police they were on the front porch when two men walked up to the porch, pointed a gun at them and demanded that they empty their pockets.

One of the victims ran inside to hide, and the gunman followed him into the house, according to a police report. Both men held the five people in the house by gunpoint and made off with several cell phones, a wallet and a set of keys, according to a police report.

They ran away northbound on Pennsylvania Avenue, according to the victims.

Police were unable to find the robbers and could not track the stolen phones. Investigators are reviewing surveillance video.
