CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – On Saturday, the Ohio turnpike had open houses at their maintenance buildings all throughout the state.
Locally, all were welcomed to the Canfield maintenance building to get a look at the inner-workings of what keeps the roads working.
The event was created with more than just adults in mind.
“Gives them a good chance to even bring their children in and let the kids climb inside and see the trucks,” said Michael Sheridan, section maintenance foreman. “You know, kids always see these things going up and down the road — would love to get inside of them. Today’s a good chance for them to hop inside one of these trucks and see them.”
The open house ran from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
