BOARDMAN, Ohio – Lois E. Anderson passed away on October 23 at Shepherd of the Valley Boardman.

She was born November 4, 1923 in Youngstown to Oscar and Elsie Carlson and was a Boardman resident all her life.

She married Willard K. “Bill” Anderson on April 6, 1946; he preceded her in death in 2003.

She was a lifelong member of First Covenant Church where she had taught Sunday school, worked with the youth groups and was an active member and leader of the women’s organizations through the years.

She worked for Boardman Local Schools for 23 years beginning in the high school library and then as secretary of Robinwood Lane Elementary School and as secretary to the Assistant Superintendent.

Lois is survived by her two daughters and two sons, Karyl Erickson (David) of Scotts Valley, California, Marcia Jackson (Douglas) of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, W. Kenneth (Dianne) of Boardman and Kevin (Susan) of Chicago, Illinois. She also leaves eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Moneyhon of Chicago; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Wike of Austintown and a brother-in-law Robert Anderson (Bonnie) of Fort Meyers, Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews, especially Sandy Knaus of Boardman who was like another daughter to her.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Carlson; son-in-law George Johnson; four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.

A celebration of her life will be held at First Covenant Church, 5210 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44512, on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation an hour preceding the service.

Private Burial Services were held at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to First Covenant Church or Hospice of the Valley.
