Why should you be elected
I am a public servant and a community leader that works diligently for all of the people.
I am committed to making things right, I have a proven track record and I will be a full-time County Recorder.
I believe that our public records are precious and should be maintained in a dignified manner. They should be available to the public without difficulty.
I will comply with all laws and protect our public records while ensuring the residents their constitutional right to their own documents.
I believe in efficiency and fiscal responsibility.
I believe that it is paramount that public officials carefully guard public funds. That is why I have been critical of my opponent’s recklessness when it comes to ignoring the law and costing the taxpayers thousands of dollars in needless lawsuits.
I believe it is our duty as elected officials to be familiar with the laws that govern our office and advocate for change, when needed, but we are also responsible to follow the laws that are in place at the time we govern.
• In addition to improving inter-personal relationships and creating a positive work environment in the Recorder’s office, I want to make the office efficient by eliminating found deficiencies.
• I want to organize and work on implementing new technology that will streamline the recording and retrieval of documents.
• I want to make the Recorder’s office transparent and accessible to the residents, whom they are responsible to serve.
• I will continue to be conservative in financial matters and I will work with the Commissioners to maintain a balanced budget and look for cost saving measures that will save tax dollars.
I have spent most of my entire life right here, in Columbiana County, having graduated from David Anderson High School in 1990.
I attended Ohio Valley Business College and received my Business Management certificate from Ashworth College.
I have obtained the Ohio Financial Accountability Certification award from the Ohio Auditor of State and the Center for Public Investment Management Certificate from the Ohio Treasurer of State.
I am continually obtaining ethics and public records training along with continuing education classes as required by the Ohio Revised Code and the Fiscal Integrity Act.
I have a strong background in private industry where my husband, Ben, and I own a small business where I serve as the Chief Financial Officer.
I have also obtained experience dealing with the public by working in the health care and banking industries.
I currently serve as Madison Township Fiscal Officer where I implement management of budgets, employee contracts, fiscal responsibilities and legal resolutions.
I also serve on the Columbiana County Township Association Executive Committee and serve as the Corresponding Secretary for that organization.
My years of governmental accounting experience will be an asset to Columbiana County government as I have a proven record of working to save taxpayer dollars.
I played an intricate roll in obtaining several grants for township projects and would bring that expertise to the Recorder’s office.
I would also prove helpful to the county when dealing with compliance issues as I have obtained perfect audit reports from the Ohio Auditor of State for my financial accounting and reporting abilities.
I believe there is not a democratic or republican way to perform the duties of this job.
I believe there is a right way and that is why I have bipartisan support from past County Recorders Gary L. Williams (R) and Veronica Wolski (D).
I have been married to my husband Ben for 24 years and we have three amazing sons.
I love the outdoors and enjoy kayaking with my family and friends.
I hold my Conceal and Carry License as well as my Hunter Education Card.
I am a member of St. George Catholic church.
I volunteer in my community and I am a member of many organizations, including the West Point Lions Club, Columbiana County Agricultural Society, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2216 and the Columbiana County Township Association.
