Farrell Fire Chief Bill Mortimer resigns from his position.

FARRELL, Pa. (WKBN) – Farrell City Council is trying to decide what to do after its fire chief resigned last week.

Bill Mortimer was a firefighter in the city for 13 years and chief since January of last year.

City council went behind closed doors after Monday night’s council meeting to discuss what to do.

There is no word on what happened during that meeting.

Retired Chief Joe Santell is currently helping with administrative duties.
