YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 28 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Loretta May Heffner, 96 of Meridian Arms Living Center, Youngstown who died Tuesday evening, October 25 at the home.
Loretta was born July 24, 1920 in Florence, Nova Scotia, a daughter of the late Hermon and Catherine McCay Morrison and came to this area as a child.
She graduated from The Rayen High School and had worked in retail sales for J. C. Penney’s and the former Strouss’ Department Stores.
Loretta was a member of Christ Church Presbyterian, enjoyed playing cards and had belonged to a monthly card club. She enjoyed shopping and going on bus trips and loved sports, especially as a Cleveland fan.
Her husband, Charles D. Heffner whom she married April 2, 1942, died November 21, 2005.
She leaves her daughter, Donna (Robert) Casey of Austintown; a son, Charles Heffner of Youngstown; six grandchildren, Anthony (Jamie) Scandy, Danielle Scandy, Kimberly (William Wells) Scandy, Kristopher Scandy, Ashlea Pollock, Amanda Casey and ten great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, Loretta was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Heffner Scandy and a brother, Russell Morrison.
Friends may call on Friday, October 28 from 4:00 – 5:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests material tributes take the form of donations to the donor’s favorite charity.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to thank the wonderful staff of MeridianArms Living Center for their exceptional care given to Loretta.
