Quintez Stokes, charged with assault and resisting arrest

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Youngstown man was jailed on several charges after police said he put a woman in a headlock and punched her in the face.

An officer stopped 18-year-old Quintez Stokes on Hilton Avenue near Cottage Grove after witnessing the assault as the two were walking down the road, according to a police report.

Police said Stokes began screaming, saying he didn’t do anything and he denied hitting the woman. The woman also denied the assault, but police said she had a bruise forming on her face.

Stokes was placed under arrest on an assault charge. Police said he tried to get out of the handcuffs and kicked the inside of the police car, and he was additionally charged with resisting arrest.

He is scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial on the charges at 10:45 a.m. November 10.
