AUSTINTOWN TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 7 at the Lane Family Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel for Robert Gene Toman, 74, of Austintown who passed away Wednesday evening, October 26, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Main Campus.
Bob was born June 9, 1942 in Youngstown, the son of Joseph and Mary (Saorashen) Toman.
He was a graduate of Chaney High School, class of 1960, and was an Army veteran.
Bob worked for the Diocese of Youngstown, where he was the head of maintenance and grounds keeping for St. Anthony of Padua Church. Bob was a member of the NRA, the
Western Reserve Fish and Game Association, and the Hubbard Conservation Club. He was also an avid wood worker and loved to make things using his scroll saw.
His wife the former Johann Minck, whom he married June 22, 1965, passed away October 20, 1997.
Bob leaves two children, Dawn (Bill) Fleming of Austintown and Robert (Melissa Crowther) Toman of North Jackson; one granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Foley of Boardman; one sister, Helen Balog of Boardman and one brother, William Toman of Youngstown.
Besides his parents and wife, Bob is preceded in death by one sister. Marion Pirko and three brothers, John, Joe and Frank Toman.
Friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6 and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 7 at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m.
