The River Rapids ride at Busch Gardens is closed following a fatal accident on a similar ride in Australia.

TAMPA, Fla. (WKBN) – The river rapids ride at Busch Gardens is closed after four people died on a similar ride in Australia on Tuesday.

Two men and two women died on Tuesday when their raft flipped on the 30-year-old Thunder River Rapids ride.

The theme park has defended its safety record as police vetoed plans to reopen its doors to the public three days after the tragedy.

Dreamworld park on Queensland state’s Gold Coast has been closed as a crime scene.

Busch Gardens decided to close a similar ride at their theme parks out of “an abundance of caution”.
