Jefferson snaps LaBrae’s 6-game win streak

LaBrae drops to 7-3 as they await their week eleven opponent.

JEFFERSON, Ohio (WKBN) – Jefferson snaps LaBrae’s six-game win streak with a 26-7 setback tonight in the final week of the regular season. Jeremiah Knight ran for 280 yards and scored 3 TDs for the Falcons.

LaBrae dropped to 7-3. However, the Vikings will be making their first back-to-back trip to the playoffs in school history. LaBrae had already won the AAC Blue Tier Championship – which was their first league title since 2008.

Viking quarterback Carlton Brown threw for 1335 yards and 13 touchdowns last year. After tonight’s 187 yard performance, Brown has now thrown for 1336 stripes (1 yard more than last year) and 10 scores. Colton Stoneman led the Vikings’ ground game with 65 yards on 8 totes. Tariq Drake and Benton Tennant each caught 4 passes. Over the last two seasons, Drake has hauled in 78 receptions for 1154 yards and 7 touchdown catches.

The Falcons avoided their first losing season since 2013 (3-7) by evening their mark to 5-5. Jefferson’s quarterback JJ Henson completed 3 of 6 passing for 42 yards (TD) and also ran for 38 stripes on 13 tries.
