Low-cost rabies vaccine available in Mahoning County

The vaccines are $6 per shot (cash only) and no appointment is necessary.

A person has possibly been exposed to rabies in the Enoree area of Spartanburg County, according to the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). They say the person was possibly exposed after handling a skunk’s carcass with bare hands on March 7.

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – A low-cost rabies vaccination clinic is scheduled for this weekend.

In Mahoning County, rabies vaccines are required for all dogs, cats and ferrets over three months old.

The Mahoning County District Board of Health is holding a vaccine clinic Saturday, Oct. 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Angels for Animals, 4750 South Range Rd., Canfield.

The vaccines are $6 per shot (cash only) and no appointment is necessary.

The low-cost clinic does not include an examination.

All pet owners must have their pets on a leash, in a cage, or a pillow case.

A three year booster is available for owners who provide proof of a previous shot record that has not expired within the current year.
