Velasquez throws 4 TDs; Reserve wins 6th in a row

SEBRING, Ohio (WKBN) – Western Reserve closes out the regular season with their 6th win in a row, this time over homestanding Sebring 60-21. Reserve has won their last three games by a combined score of 163-21.

The Blue Devils had posted an average of 420.7 yards of total offense through their first nine games. Tonight, Reserve gained 563 total yards which was the fourth time this season that they had topped the 500 yard plateau.

The Devils’ quarterback Dominic Velasquez threw for 4 touchdowns and 186 yards on 7 of 15 passing. The 4 touchdowns was a career best for Velasquez and the eighth time this season that he has thrown for multiple scores in a game. For the season, he’s tossed 20 touchdowns and accumulated 1219 yards. He found two receivers three times tonight in Ryan Demsky (62) and Wyatt Larimer (78). Velasquez also completed a 46-yard score to Austin Seifert in the fourth quarter. Larimer has been Reserve’s #1 option this season as he has hauled in 25 passes for 537 yards (11 TDs). Reserve’s running back Jack Cappabianca topped the 100-yard mark for the fifth time this season as he went for 194 yards on just 9 attempts. Cappabianca also went over the 1,000-yard plateau for the season (1068) and 13 touchdowns on the ground.

Sebring (3-7) finishes their season by falling in seven of their last eight games. The Trojans’ Nate Martin scored on a kickoff return and also gained 121 rushing yards. Sebring’s quarterback Robbie Rouse gained 38 yards rushing and also threw a touchdown pass.
