Kennedy holds off Aquinas in OT thriller

Warren, OH (WKBN) – The Warren JFK football team defeated St. Thomas Aquinas, 28-27 in overtime Saturday at Mollenkopf Stadium.

The Eagles took an early lead on their opening drive, capping things off with a one yard touchdown run from Gregory Valent. The Knights would answer in the 2nd quarter to tie the game at 7 at halftime.

On the opening drive of the 3rd quarter, Kennedy scored on 4th and goal with Ross Nocera punching it in from a yard out. Nocera scored again in the 4th quarter to eventually tie the game at 21.

Kennedy got the ball first in overtime and Evan Boyd scored the game-winning touchdown. The Eagles finish the regular season at 9-1.
