Lakeview captures district crown over Canfield

NILES, OH (WKBN)-The Lakeview boys soccer team are district champs after they topped Canfield in the Division II Austintown District Final 4-1 Saturday evening.

The Cardinals put pressure on the top-seeded Bulldogs early but goalkeeper Zac White was up to the task keeping the game scoreless.

About midway through the half, Lakeview’s Josh Kelly took a free kick that was pushed away by Canfield keeper Jad Saleh, but the rebound was put away by the Bulldogs Jeff Remmick which gave Lakeview the lead.

The Bulldogs now head to the Round of 16 where they have a date with Revere, November 2nd at 7:00PM at Solon High School.
