YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A fight at a Youngstown home that police said involved a woman stabbing her boyfriend with a steak knife Saturday morning resulted in a domestic violence charge and a man in the hospital.
According to a police report, Latasha Colmon told police her boyfriend started arguing with her in the bathroom of a Benwood Avenue home after he found text messages from another man on her cell phone. She said he then became enraged, threw a TV down the steps, threw a brick through her car window and broke a kitchen window.
The man told police Colmon stabbed him with a steak knife in the kitchen during the argument. He added that he blocked her swipe of the knife with his hand, causing a cut, but that she still was able to puncture his midsection.
According to the report, when police arrived at the home just after 8 a.m., they found the man bleeding from the hand and midsection. He was outside, wearing a blood-covered t-shirt and bleeding a puddle on the street.
Police then called an ambulance to the scene to treat him after he lifted his shirt and revealed a puncture. He was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for further treatment.
Colmon was arrested and charged with domestic violence and felonious assault and taken to Mahoning County Jail.
