POLAND TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Two suspects from Struthers are now in custody, accused of stealing things from homes and cars in several Poland Township neighborhoods.

Friday morning, police arrested 24-year-old Michael Cornwell — a day after arresting 18-year-old Brandon Stevens on burglary charges. The younger suspect was a juvenile at the time of the break-ins and turned 18 just this week.

Police believe they are behind dozens of theft cases in a half dozen neighborhoods in the township over the last month.

Numerous stolen items have been recovered, but police are asking that victims not call them. Police can’t give the items back to the owners until directed by the courts.

Surveillance video captured a photo of one of the persons believed to be involved in the burglaries affecting six different housing complexes in Poland Township.

The complexes were no more than ten minutes from each other and at most, 15 minutes from the police department.

The suspects broke into cars and used garage door openers to gain access to the houses, police said.

Stevens will be arraigned at 2 p.m. Monday in juvenile court.
