BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Over 38 million Americans of all ages have a hearing impairment, and in the Mahoning County, one in three people suffers from hearing loss.
“Hearing loss is a very prevalent problem, and in this area we have a lot of people in financial need and we want to give back,” said Dr. Sheryl Figliano, a doctor of audiology at the Centers for Hearing Care and a co-founder of the Hearing Missions Foundation.
The foundation will give away 25 pairs of free hearing aids to those who are in a financial hardship. Applicants will have to go through financial and hearing screenings to prove their eligibility.
Applicants can be of any age but must be a resident of either Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana County.
For those who want to apply, you need to do so before Nov. 15. Call the Hearing Missions Foundation at (330) 779-8090.
