FARMDALE, Ohio (WKBN) – Firefighters worked to put out a fire at a home on State Route 87 on Monday afternoon.

Crews said the fire started in the chimney of the home, located at 4526 State Route 87. The fire caused some structural damage.

An elderly couple lives there, but no one was injured. Their insurance is placing them in a hotel due to the home’s water and smoke damage.

Firefighters said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it does not appear suspicious.

Middlefield, Mesopotamia, Farmington, Bloomfield and Bristol’s fire departments responded.
