BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A new drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility had its grand opening Monday in Boardman, and it’s already filled to capacity.
New Day Recovery opened on Boardman-Canfield Road in July. All 16 beds are already taken.
Clients spend five to seven days in the detox facility. Then, they’re connected with support organizations, housing and programs to continue their sobriety.
The biggest challenge, says Director Kim DiPillo, is building confidence.
“You have to get them to the point where they know they can do it. They can be successful,” she said. “They have to believe in themselves, and they have to believe in the recovery process.”
New Day will be expanding into the building next door in the next year. It will become another 16-bed detox facility.
